The people: Applying for residence

How does a person apply for residence at The Pines?
1. Come to one of our Group Information Meetings. These are held the first Tuesday of most months at 3 p.m. This is a good opportunity to meet some of the people who live here and some of the people who are thinking about moving in. It is a time to hear how we came into being, to learn about our management, and if an apartment is available, to visit and to catch the flavor of life in this Community for Retirement Living.

If at that time a person concludes he/she would like to live here, we can give out our official application.

To make a reservation for one of these Group Information Meetings, please call our office at 201-934-2157 any morning between 9:30 and 12:30.

2. Submit the application picked up at the Group Information Meeting. and request three letters of reference be sent directly to The Pines.

3. When we have received the application and three letters of reference, we will invite the applicant to come to The Pines for an Interview. This will give us opportunity to get better acquainted and to learn about the applicants interest in living at The Pines.

At that time we can discuss the financial situation and confirm whether or not the applicant is eligible for occupancy.

4. After the application is approved by our Selection Committee, the applicant will be invited to a Group Orientation to go over our Tenant Handbook and the process for proceeding once an apartment is offered.
