Sponsors
We request that each resident at The Pines have a "Sponsor," a person we can call upon to render assistance to the Resident in the event of an emergency or a problem in which The Pines becomes involved.
As long as a Resident manages his/her own health and safety and complies with the terms of the lease there is no occasion for Staff to get involved with these matters. However, when a Resident's abilityh to function independently is interrupted (temporarily or long term) and causes "imposition" on other Residents or Staff, the role of Staff is to contact the Sponsor. The sponsor can then inform other family and friends as may be appropriate and enlist the support and guidance to resolve the situation.
The sponsor should be a person who is willing and able to assist when and if "the going gets rough." It is in the best ointerest of the Resident and The Pines for the Sponsor to be a person who can and will "stand by" the Resident "when the going gets rough until the situation is resolved so that the Resident and others at The Pines can continue living safely and securely and in accordance with the terms of the lease.
The person(s) willing to assume this roll should call the Administrator of The Pines to arrange a mutually convenient date to get acquainted and review sponsorship matters so we can prepare for a good working relationship when and if the Applicant moves in.
